Volume can mean several things. Some lifters mean weekly hard sets per muscle group. Others mean volume load, usually load multiplied by reps and summed across sets. Powerlifters may watch lift-specific tonnage. Hypertrophy-focused lifters may care more about recoverable hard sets for chest, back, quads, hamstrings, glutes, shoulders, biceps, and triceps.
