// ABOUT //

Built by someone who lifts and ships.

IronLedger is an independent iOS and Android app made by one developer. It exists because the self-coached lifter, the person who already has a program and just wants a log that respects it, was not well served by anything on the store.

It is a free strength training app that shows its work. Every load recommendation comes with the reason behind it. There is no company behind it, no funding round, and no growth team, which is exactly why there is no paywall to defend.

// PRINCIPLES //

What we will not do.

Commitments are easier to check when they are stated as refusals. These four are the ones worth holding us to.

01

No paywall on your own training record.

Your history, your records, your analytics. Charging you for access to work you did in a gym is the wrong trade, so there is no subscription and no paid tier.

$0 · NO IN-APP PURCHASES
02

No black-box recommendations. Every suggestion shows its rule.

The progression engine is deterministic. It returns the target, the rule that produced it, and a plain-English reason, and the formula behind estimated 1RM is printed on the site.

3 NAMED RULES · EPLEY PUBLISHED
03

No lock-in. Your data exports whenever you want it.

Logging is local and needs no account. Your full record leaves as CSV or Excel, in a format a coach can read, whether you are staying or going.

CSV AND XLSX, IN AND OUT
04

No fake social proof. We publish what we have, including what we lack.

No invented download counts, no stock-photo testimonials, no five-star wall. The scope statement below lists what the app does not do, in the same type size as the features.

SEE WHAT WE'RE NOT, BELOW

// WHAT WE'RE NOT //

An honest scope statement.

Five things IronLedger is not, listed plainly so you can decide before you download rather than after.

  1. 01Not a nutrition appThere is no macro tracking, no food database, and no calorie target. IronLedger tracks training, and nothing about what you eat.Out of scope
  2. 02Not a social networkNo feed, no followers, no comments, no leaderboards. The only sharing is a summary image you export yourself.Out of scope
  3. 03Not a web appIronLedger is a phone app. There is no browser version and no desktop client, so you cannot log a session from a laptop.No plans
  4. 04Not fully released on AndroidThe Android build is real and free, but it is still in closed testing. That means joining a Google Group and opting in on Google Play with the same account.Closed test
  5. 05Not a big user baseThe app is new, so the number of people using it is small. If you want an app with a decade of reviews behind it, that is a fair reason to choose something else.New app

If any of those five are dealbreakers, another app is the better choice, and that is a fine outcome. Everything else on this site is easier to believe once this list is in the open.

// THE ROADMAP //

Short, dated, and shippable.

Only work that is defined enough to ship appears here. Nothing on this list is a promise with a date attached, and only work that actually shipped is marked Shipped.
